Dragoncon 2026: The First Two Nights

The Quest to Save Avalon
The first two nights of Eventide of Albion at Dragon Con 2026 have passed, and already the fate of Avalon hangs upon treasures drawn from legend, blood, and dreams.
The great protections surrounding Avalon are failing. The old magics that have allowed Vampires, Changelings, Shifters, and other Prodigals to exist in an uneasy peace are weakening, and there may be only one hope left. A ritual of tremendous power must be performed at Stonehenge, but such magic cannot be fueled by ordinary offerings. The ritual requires objects already steeped in legend—relics carrying enough supernatural power to awaken the ancient stones.
And so the quest began.
The Sword from a Dream of Camelot
The first trail led somewhere few expected: beyond the mortal world and into the Dreaming Realm of Camelot.
There the questers sought one of the greatest weapons ever tied to the legends of Avalon: Excalibur, the Fey-crafted sword of King Arthur.
Simply reaching Arthur proved a quest of its own. The gathered heroes faced several challenges before they were judged worthy even to stand before the legendary king and his assembled knights. Yet when at last they entered Arthur's presence, steel was not what won the day.
A bargain was struck.
Arthur agreed to surrender Excalibur for the ritual, but Avalon would owe Camelot a debt in return. The Prodigals would attempt to find a way to return Guinevere from the mortal realm to Camelot. They would also seek some means of doing the same for the knight Gwayn.
That second promise may prove considerably more difficult.
Gwayn has walked the mortal world for a very long time—but no longer as the knight Arthur remembers. He has become one of the Kindred, and centuries of vampiric existence may make returning him to Camelot far more complicated than simply opening a path between worlds.
Still, the bargain was made.
Excalibur left Camelot in the hands of the questers and was ultimately entrusted to the young Ventrue Kindred Alexander, who now bears responsibility for protecting one of the most famous swords in the history and mythology of Avalon until it is required at Stonehenge.
One relic had been found.
The ritual, however, demanded more.
Blood on the Thames
Days later in the mortal world, another party assembled. Some of those who had traveled into Camelot returned, while others took their places. Once again, Vampires, Changelings, and Shifters found themselves working side by side toward a goal greater than the rivalries between their peoples.
Their next objective was a very different treasure: an ancient silvered Cup of the Shifters.
Finding it would not require passage into the Dreaming.
Instead, the hunt carried them onto the River Thames.
There, what might have been a search became a battle.
A vessel crewed by Nosferatu Kindred stood between the questers and their prize, and the Thames became the scene of a violent struggle. The enemy was far more dangerous than expected. Among those opposing the party was a Kindred of terrifying age and power, a Methuselah accompanied by its own childe.
Against such creatures, survival alone might have been considered a victory.
But the gathered Prodigals had not come merely to survive.
Vampires fought beside Shifters. Changelings stood beside Kindred. Old divisions mattered less than the knowledge that should they fail, there might soon be no peaceful Avalon left for any of them to fight over.
The battle was won.
And from the bloodshed upon the Thames, the questers recovered the silvered Cup.
Two relics now await the ritual.
Excalibur, the Fey-forged sword of Camelot.
The Silvered Cup of the Shifters.
Both carry histories older than many of those now entrusted with their protection. Both contain the supernatural power needed for what is coming.
But they are not enough.
The Third Night Awaits
Now the third night approaches.
Those who have survived Camelot and the Thames know better than to expect the next task to be simple. Each relic has demanded something different. The first required trials, diplomacy, and a promise to a legendary king. The second required bloodshed against ancient Kindred upon the dark waters of London.
What will the third demand?
Another artifact?
A sacrifice?
A journey somewhere even the Prodigals fear to tread?
Or perhaps something that cannot simply be taken by strength, stolen by cunning, or purchased through promises?
Whatever comes next, the pieces of the ritual are slowly being gathered. Soon they must be carried to Stonehenge, where the ancient stones will witness an attempt to renew the protections of Avalon.
For centuries, Avalon has been a place where supernatural peoples who might otherwise be enemies have found ways—however imperfectly—to share the same land.
Now Vampires, Changelings, and Shifters are fighting together to preserve it.
Two nights are finished.
Two legendary relics have been recovered.
One night remains.
And before the stones of Stonehenge awaken, the heroes of Avalon must discover what the final price of peace will be.
The Eventide of Albion continues at Dragon Con 2026.
