Eventide of Albion – Game History
The Eventide of Albion began over fifteen years ago as a small tabletop chronicle in Orlando, Florida. What started around a kitchen table soon grew into a sprawling narrative that drew on the dark richness of the World of Darkness setting. Its earliest incarnation eventually crossed paths with another community, merging into a mixed-format WoD LARP that ran for years at Dragon Con in Atlanta.
When that long-standing Dragon Con LARP came to its close, there followed two years without an official World of Darkness game at the convention. It was during that absence that the AtSSG carried forward the torch, launching Eventide of Albion as its flagship LARP event.
The story first opened in 1065 A.D., just before the Norman Conquest, steeped in the clash of Kindred, Garou, Changelings, and Mages against the backdrop of Albion’s turbulent medieval world. Over the course of seven years of play (with the one pause during the Covid years), the narrative has leapt forward through centuries of Avalon’s reimagined history. Each chapter allowed the players to help shape the fate of nations, dynasties, and supernatural courts.
Today, the chronicle has settled in the Tudor Era, weaving the fate of Avalon into the reign of Edward Tudor. The year is the 1550s, and what began as historical fact has been reshaped by the choices of the players: monarchs have risen and fallen, alliances redrawn, and supernatural forces have left their mark on the world.
The game is carried forward not only by its live events—featured at Dragon Con, MomoCon, ConNooga, and Necronomicon—but also through its ongoing year-round play on Discord in the Eventide of Albion AtSSG community. Together, these platforms create a living, evolving chronicle where history is rewritten through collaboration, imagination, and the enduring passion of its players.
Eventide of Albion Timeline
15th Century
-
1455–1487 – War of the Roses (Altered)
The dynastic struggle between York and Lancaster was deeply influenced by Kindred and Garou politics. Secret alliances among Changelings and Tremere advisors shifted outcomes of key battles, ensuring Avalon’s unification under a balance of supernatural factions rather than mortal lineage alone. Garou across Avalon were forced to choose a side and battle each other. Many Garou were lost.
Early 16th Century
-
1513 – Battle of Flodden (Shifted)
Traditionally, a crushing English victory, but in Albion’s chronicle, Fianna Garou and Fera forces from Scotland altered the outcome. The Scottish defeat was less devastating, allowing supernatural lines of influence to remain strong north of the border. Many Changelings were involved, and the Kindred was limited. -
1520 – Field of Cloth of Gold (Changed)
A historic meeting between Henry VIII and Francis I of France. It became a secret gathering of Kindred elders and Fae courts, where oaths and betrayals shaped not only mortal diplomacy but also the supernatural fate of Western Europe. A massive battle of dark umbral forces and those of the Wild Hunt -
1530s – Rise of the Order of Gabriel (Introduced)
A militant holy order backed by infernalist Sabbat rivals and the Vatican, targeting all Prodigals (supernatural beings) in Avalon. Their campaigns marked a turning point in open supernatural conflict across Europe. -
1540s – Sabbat & the Morean War (Entangled)
In Avalon’s retelling, the Ottoman-Venetian conflicts of the Morean War are intertwined with Sabbat crusades. Cainites fueled piracy, naval clashes, and infernal bargains across the Mediterranean, shaping the politics of Avalon’s maritime Kindred—a massive battle taking place in Athens as well as on the Isle of Crete.
Mid 16th Century – Current Era
-
1534–1550s – The Tudor Ascendancy (Shaped)
Edward Tudor survives where history wrote him frail and dying. With Garou's bloodline strength and supernatural allies, he leads Avalon as King in the 1550s, reshaping the kingdom’s fate. -
1550 – Mongol Raid on China (Expanded)
A Mongol incursion into Ming lands turned disastrous when Kindred warlords and shifter clans intervened. Avalon agents linked to the Moody Badger Tavern were said to be present, influencing trade routes and alliances with Eastern supernatural powers. -
1550s – Attacks of the Order of Gabriel on Avalon (Active)
Major assaults on London, York, and the southern coasts. These invasions, backed by Spain, France, and the Papacy, were repelled through the combined resistance of Kindred princes, Garou packs, and fae enchantments. Entire battles have gone differently from recorded history because of player action. -
1550s – Birth of Oda Nobunaga (Foreshadowed)
In Avalon’s chronicle, his birth in Japan is marked by omens of Bastet and Khan-shifter bloodlines. Players’ actions across the seas ensure Avalon already has ties to his court, hinting at future global conflicts.
